Excerpt from Battle Log of Canoness Zelda, Order of the Sacred Rose
It was clear from the outset that the forces of chaos were set to kill the holy Canoness Zelda, they must have sensed that without her leadership the Imperial forces would be sent into disarray early on and spell doom for their counter offensive campaign plans.
With this knowledge the forces of the Sacred Rose order arranged in a defensive formation setting up on the ridge of the ash wastelands over seeing the slow trudge of the visible Death Guard forces as they encroached on the position. The Retributor squad Holy Fury took to the front line ready to pour their heavy bolter and melta fire onto the Plague Marines, yet in a sudden flash and pop the Chaos Daemons appeared from nothing and swept in to dispatch the squad in swift & bloody fashion before they could fathom what had happened. Angered by witnessing the sudden demise of their fellow sisters Dominion Squad Purity disembarked from the Rhino Deliverance ready to set their meltas toward the Fiends and looming Daemon Prince and while they dealt some holy fire to the enemy ultimately they too were brought low and the Deliverance gutted by the daemon forces.
Alert now to the rapid advance of the daemons, Battle sister squad Serenity formed a defensive ring around the Canoness and Hospitaller Seraphina to protect them from the Daemonettes and Tzeentch flamers bearing down on them. After some overwatch fire which brought some of the daemons down they reached the line and engaged the squad which saw more than half their number dismissed in close combat, the Canoness and Hospitaller rallied the remaining sisters in an intended fall back manoeuvre to create space and saw the daemons slain from various sources of ranged firepower. Thinking they were safe they paused for prayer and to catch their breath and in this moment Tzeentch stuck with his wicked magic and the Flux Master slew the remnants of the battle sister squad. Remaining stoic and resolute, the Canoness & Hospitaller engaged him in close combat that saw many blows traded, wounding him while he too inflicted injury on Seraphina. Ultimately in cowardly Tzeentch fashion he retreated from the fight and took flight on his disc. Zelda vowed not to allow the heretic to live, whispered a prayer to the God Emperor before taking a shot with her Condemnor Boltgun finally bringing him down with its blessed bolts that saw him wink out of existence back to the immaterium. Taking stock of the final battle field there was little left of the Sisters forces but with the aid of the great Knights they had weathered the storm and survived the decapitation plot of the forces of Chaos, now was the time for rest, rearmement and reinforcement in the next stage of the Campaign.
